Traffic flow - is particularly high in the mornings and evenings, and is mainlyone-way (down in the mornings; up in the evenings). There is little flow oftraffic from floor-to-floor.

Passengers - expect prompt arrival of an elevator at the touch of a button.They want to reach the required floor quickly, comfortably and safely.

Tenants - will not tolerate a noisy elevator, especially at night. Transportationof people with reduced mobility is a key issue, as is wheelchair access.

The energy efficiency of the KONE EcoDisc® is outstanding. Its powerconsumption is only half that needed by comparable conventional systems,saving the cost of thousands of kilowatt-hours per year. Significant cost savingsare also achieved by the use of lower duty risers and fuses made possible by apeak starting current of just 30 to 40 percent of that of equivalent traction units.

The absence of oil removes the risk of soil contamination and fire that areconstant threats in hydraulic systems.

This is an objectiveevaluation of the environmental impact of a product, from the extractionand selection of raw materials, to its assembly, transportation, distribution,use and final safe disposal.
