Custom-designed Tension Membrane Structure from Tension Span

There is no better indicator of the high performance of a product as when it outlasts its warranty. After 20 years - 10 years beyond the life of its warranty - this tension membrane structure was re-skinned as part of the refurbishment of the iconic Broadbeach Mall, just south of Queensland's Gold Coast.

The tension membrane structure was purpose-built as a soundshell for public concerts and community events, providing a large outdoor area sheltered from the harsh Australian sun. The custom design creates an impressive and dynamic structure, combining functionality with maximum impact. The high translucency Tedlar PVF fabric used for the canopy retains its original properties over a long period of time, even in extreme temperatures, and is highly UV resistant. Its proven durability makes it the ideal choice for a tension membrane structure so close to the beach.
