Decking Butt Joiner from DeckMaster

deck summer chair

DeckBone is used to butt join End Matced Decking both OFF or On a joist, saving considerable installation labour by not having to measure and cut each board. In addition the use of DeckBone's will save up to 70% waste saving money and reducing strain on our valuable resourse. ENVIROMENTALLY FRIENDLY!

The butt join will also remain stable unlike traditional deck fastening methods where eventually the decking tends to twist at the joint.

The DeckBone joint delivers outstanding joint strength and even with the boards joined in the middle of a span (in the centre between two joists) you will notice that the board will actuallly deflect less than a board that has not been joined with a DeckBone. This is the result of the pressure being distributed by the DeckBone over the two adjoining deck boards.

Installation

Wherever the board ends that is where you join it. After finishing fastening a board simply apply a 4mm bead of Sikaflex 11FC (Black) into the end matched groove of the fastened board, then fully insert the Deckbone in to the end of the board. Apply Sikaflex 11FC to the next board to be installed and postion the board in place. Tap the end of the board you are installing with a rubber mallet to make sure the butt joint is nice and tight.
