NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESEnviro advocate praises Dux Hot Water's new Readyhot water recirculation system.
A passionate environmental advocate has chosen Dux Hot Water's new Readyhot water recirculation system for her kitchen. Helen Draper, who sells fibre-based cleaning products for a living, says she'd long been concerned about water wasted while waiting for hot water to arrive at the tap. "Before we fitted Readyhot in our kitchen we would run the cold water in the pipes into a container and either put it on the flower beds or into the bird bath," said Helen Draper. "We were typically collecting two to two-and-a-half litres of water every morning while waiting for hot water out of the tap - and more again during the day." Readyhot is a revolutionary water recirculation system which pumps back to the water heater, on demand, any hot water which has cooled in the household's pipes. Depending on installation, Readyhot can reduce the waiting time for hot water to a quarter of your current wait. Mrs Draper, who lives with her builder husband on the New South Wales Southern Highlands, says she is passionate about the health of Australia's waterways. "Everyone should be aware what they're putting down our drains because it all ends up either in our rivers or the ocean," said Mrs Draper. "We'd seen something similar to Readyhot on a television program about new inventions so when we saw the Dux system available for sale we were very interested. "Cold water in the pipes is a real problem in our area because it can get very cold. Some of our neighbours boil a kettle to get hot water for their kitchen sinks rather than waste water by running the tap. "When I think about those cold and frosty mornings when we had to collect litres of icy cold water every day which we then put back on the garden, it makes us shiver. We are so thankful we no longer have to do this." Dux Hot Water says its tests show Readyhot could save thousands of litres of water per household every year. Readyhot is compatible with all brands and styles of hot water systems and can be fitted to either new homes or retrofitted to existing homes like the Drapers'. Readyhot is sold complete with a remote activation button which can be fixed to a wall anywhere in the house and which turns on the recirculation pump. |
