Timbercrete's environmental credentials include two awards from the HIA GreenSmart® competition

A Timbercrete home was awarded Runner Up in the "Building of the Year" (single-skin block construction home in Worrigee on NSW South Coast).
Timbercrete was also awarded Runner Up as "Product of the Year."
Some other environmental benefits of Timbercrete include:
- Most bricks are kiln dried; a manufacturing process that consumes vast amounts of energy (heat). Timbercrete is air dried, and consumes almost no energy at all in the
production process.
- Timbercrete consumes substantial quantities of saw mill waste. When this material is disposed of with traditional methods (eg burning or decomposition as mulch or land
fill) it releases carbon dioxide, a major contributor to green house gases. When blended into the production of Timbercrete bricks, this saw mill waste cannot decompose,
thereby preventing the release of any green house gases.
- Timbercrete contains no toxic chemicals.
- Timbercrete's superior insulating qualities contribute to the more efficient heating and cooling of homes. It is significantly superior to just about all other bricks
and blocks in this regard.
