NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESWonderful Kitchens' clever design proves that looks can be deceiving![]() While functionality is the main aspect of a well designed kitchen, good looks appeal to the style conscious. This kitchen demonstrates the significant appeal created when the two are combined. Careful to keep a clutter-free look for this minimalist kitchen, designer Andrew Dee expertly concealed the wet bar behind roller doors to keep the bottles hidden from sight. Located behind the kitchen, the owners asked for the laundry to be masked yet incorporated in the design. A 'secret' door was built that allows the owners to step between the kitchen and laundry with ease. Three tones of polyurethane feature in the kitchen's cabinetry with natural white gloss, brief interlude gloss and stainless-steel metallic creating a harmonious combination. Forming an eye catching backdrop, the green tinted glass splashback highlights the cooking area whilst toning down the stark white polyurethane and providing contrast to the wooden floorboards. For its hardy appeal, a thick Quantum Quartz bench top in Alpine White was used on the island bench. During the design process every detail was taken into consideration. As with many northern Sydney homes, the ceilings were high so Andrew dropped the height to complement the kitchen's contemporary style. Neatly integrated into the family living areas, this inspiring space will outlast any fashion trends and, thanks to its durability, will be around for many years to come. ![]() Fact File Willoughby Showroom Email sales@wonderfulkitchens.com.au DOORS & PANELS Natural white gloss polyurethane, brief interlude gloss polyurethane, stainless-steel metallic polyurethane.
