Luxury apartment development, Lee Wharf, located on Newcastle harbour required a sun control system that would not only withstand higher wind loads, protect against the strength of west facing sun but also complement the high-end design of its apartments.

The six floor building designed by leading architects Crone Partners and built by Richard Crookes Construction, specified the markilux 760 straight drop tensioning screen as the only commercial choice. The 760's kevlar and elasticized side tensioning belts give optimum strength, tension and smooth operation, while the Swela Transilk FR sunscreen offers maximum UV and shade protection while not disturbing the view.

Each of the 120 straight drops are motorised with Somfy remote control operation per apartment and automated by two master wind sensors, guaranteeing day in, day out performance. When specifying high rise external vertical sun control solutions, the markilux 760 is the only choice.
