NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESColour Coated Steel Sydney from OneSteel Coil Coaters![]() The ColorGuard paint systems have been purpose designed for in-line coil coating and further developed for specific end product applications. For instance, ColorGuard is supplied standard with a 25% gloss finish, however 80% gloss levels can be achieved and supplied. Likewise certain end product applications require a protective backing coat to be applied to the reverse side of the substrate. Meticulous adherence to substrate preparation and paint system quality control ensures that ColorGuard maintains its superior finish and rich colour presentation right across the broad range of pre painted coil products.
Stage 1: A conversion coating is used to seal the prepared steel or aluminium substrate. Stage 2: A primer is applied to enhance corrosion resistance of the finished product and improve the malleability of the finished ColorGuard product by optimising the adhesive bond between the paint and substrate. Stage 3: A final top or finishing coat is applied in a third stage to produce the completed ColorGuard product. The finishing coat can vary depending upon the end application needs of our clients.
