Ceramic Tile Decoration from Massa Imports

RAK CERAMICS being one of the industry leaders have recently purchased an ink–jet printing system, called “NANOPIX”. It is a 100% digital system applied to ceramic decoration through which you can create, modify, transmit and apply the design directly to the tile.

This ‘no touch’ printing system does not need any intermediate equipment (screens, rollers, etc.) to get the tile decorated. This process is called “NANOPIX” and it uses a four–colour–process decoration (Cyan Magenta Yellow Black) to create the finished design.

This system is already in full production, represents a decorative system alternative to other traditional methods and opens new opportunities to creativity in ceramics.

The inks, the glazes

The four process colours for ink–jet ceramic decoration allow developing a wide range of tones & variations. The four ceramic inks are fed automatically (‘drop on demand system‘) through industrial electric printing–heads consisting injectors and transmitting thousands of drops/second, creating finishes of differing looks, with no two tiles ever duplicating.
