NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESAcoustical Designs' Super Sound panels are becoming the choice of restaurants, board rooms and more![]() As our population ages one of the increasing health problems is mid-range hearing. Daily our 50 something's walk into café's and restaurants right across our nation ready to part with their had earned only to discover to their embarrassment that they cannot hear the 'chic' verbal menu or indeed their dinner companion across the table over the roar of the other patrons. The food may indeed be first class, the service swift but the client does not return. As for our newest IPOD generation, this environmental problem is likely to increase Acoustical Design has been producing solutions to Acoustical problems for over 30 years. In particular it's range of acoustic panels have been specified in some of the leading venues in Australia including restaurants, cafés, cinemas and community centres. Their revolutionary Super Sound Panel and new product Super Sound Panel LF (low frequency) ensure a tailored solution to your exacting needs. So what are Super Sound Panels? Super Sound Panels are an acoustic panel that have a NRC rating of greater than 0.95. Please see the performance graph below including the new Low Frequency SSP. What gives the SSP its incredible performance is its unique Sound Reversal System allowing a small amount of sound to penetrate through the panel and into the air cavity behind, re-entering the panel through the perforated steel to be absorbed in the polyester acoustic insulation. In effect this gives the panel significantly increased effectiveness compared to a panel with a hard back such as MDF. Further Acoustical Design limits the use of MDF in its products due to the hazardous nature of the dust created by cutting, as well as the potential of 'off gassing' caused by the glues within the board. The Super Sound Panels can be covered with a wide array of contemporary fabrics with different textures and patterns or alternatively for a more industrial look can have a powder coated perforated steel finish. The fabrics used are professionally upholstered on to the Super Sound Panel without using harmful glues or epoxies. Apart from the obvious environmental benefits, this also makes re-upholstering a simple process often with a 24hr turn around. In the unlikely event of damage to an acoustic panel, rather than a whole panel needing to be replaced, it is simply unclipped and transported back to us for repair. The Super Sound Panels come with their own track system for mounting onto walls or ceilings. This system can be utilised in a wide range of wall/ceiling surfaces including stud frame and masonry. It also allows for panels to be attached horizontally or vertically depending on the overall effect required. One significant advantage of this system is the easy removal of panels particularly in a leased premises situation. Minimal repair work is needed to 'make good' the premises. Usually as simple as stopping up the screw holes. The Super Sound Panels are made to order in virtually any size or shape the client requires. Our usual maximum size is 2400mm by 1200mm; however larger sizes can be manufactured on a project by project basis. ![]() |
