Insulated Glass Units from G.James Glass & Aluminium

insulated glass unit cross section diagram

An Insulated Glass Unit (IGU) or Double Glazed Unit refers to a hermetically sealed unit which comprises two or more panels of glass separated by a specified air space. It is the air space between each of the glass panels that reduces thermal conduction, preventing heat loss in the winter and heat gain during the summer. Consequently IGU's have superior insulation ratings (or U-values) when compared with single panel glazing. They also reduce internal condensation in colder climates.

G.James operates 3 separate IGU processing facilities in Australia, all using state-of-the-art Lisec automated production lines and manufacturing units up to 3500mm x 2500mm with spacer widths ranging from 6mm up to 24mm.

G.James Insulated Glass Units, marketed as Twin Glaze and ecoTHERM® units, have been independently certified for compliance with both BS5713:1979 and CAN/CGSB - 12.8-M90 standards. G.James is also an accredited member of the Insulated Glass Manufacturers Association (IGMA).
