Why We Need the Carbon Tax

Even if you are one of the approximately 82% of Australians who are concerned about pollution and climate change you may not be convinced that we need another tax! But while there may be some short term pain with the likely introduction of the Carbon Tax it should be more than offset by long term gain for our economy as well as our environment....

Cooler and cloudier European countries have led the way embracing Solar Energy Technology, with Governments like Germany actively enforcing the widespread use of renewable "clean" power sources for years, while we have been dragging the chain despite being blessed with the perfect environmental conditions for widespread use of alternative energy generation from Solar PV panels.

So why is that? Well money of course! Until recently it was much cheaper to produce "dirty" energy from coal then it was from clean energy sources like solar and wind, but the balance sheet has been tipping more and more in favour of renewables thanks to generous Government rebates & reduced costs to manufacture solar components. This combined with ongoing rises in electricity costs from the grid saw a huge spike in the number of consumers investing in solar energy for their home in 2009 & 2010. But of course we are not the big power users, and corporations have been reluctant to get on board until it made compelling economic sense to do so........hence the Carbon Tax, because we have to make it cheaper to produce clean energy then polluting energy!

Governments, economists and business leaders around the globe agree that leveling the economic playing field by placing a price tag on pollution is one of the best ways to reduce pollution, and if you as a consumer want to get on board by installing solar power at home you can not only eliminate your electricity bill forever, but as a bonus, it will create thousands of jobs within new industries.

But be aware that prices are most likely at their lowest levels right now, and reduced rebates are expected from as early as April, so don't delay, contact Premier Solar Australia today on 1800 E-SOLAR to book your free home consultation and quote.
