Stegbar showerscreens, coloured glass panels & mirrors complete bathroom designs on The Block All Stars

Affectionately referred to as 'hell week' on The Block, the bathrooms are acknowledged as the toughest rooms to renovate. Armed with the knowledge that kitchens and bathrooms sell homes, the pressure was once again for the All Stars contestants to get this critical room right and also come up with designs to wow and inspire the judges.

With this in mind, designing for re-sale was the theme that emerged very quickly in all the contestant's bathroom designs with every couple sticking to natural and grey colour palettes with clean and simple designs.

In the mid week bathroom challenge sprung on contestants Amity and Phil emerged as the front runners to take out the week but come judgement, it was Josh and Jenna's bathroom that came out the winner.

The contestants on The Block All Stars know all too well the challenges of incorporating both practicality and style in a bathroom design that also meets the budget.

Director of Business Development for JELD-WEN Australia, Chris Barker said making the most of every available square inch is vital in the design of a bathroom.

"As one of the most frequently used rooms in a home, choosing the right bathroom design is crucial as this space has to suit the needs of every member of the household - which is certainly is no mean feat! For some it's the serene reprieve from a busy and demanding world, while for families it's a high traffic zone prone to extreme congestion in peak hour times," said Chris.

"Increasingly today's modern interior trends are seeing the use of the glass in this room and the designs are limited pretty much only by the imagination."

The All Star contestants teamed up with Stegbar to take advantage of the vast array of glass products available to help them achieve the bathroom designs they had chosen.

Taking inspiration from the ensuite on their original series of The Block, Josh and Jenna included a Stegbar Matelux frameless glass door. Matelux glass has a satin finish and a neutral, translucent appearance that filters light softly and is a popular choice by interior designers as it mirrors the trend towards minimalism and simplicity which is the hallmark of Josh and Jenna's work.

Pushing the boundaries with design, Mark and Duncan made the bold decision to split their bathroom with tiles on the floor and lower half of their walls, and feature Stegbar coloured glass panels on the upper walls. Glass panelling is the modern and contemporary alternative to tiles and Stegbar's coloured glass panels give homeowners the option to choose the colour and the panel size for the area they wish to cover.

The added benefit of glass panels is that they are easy to clean and extremely durable, no longer do you have to waste endless amounts of time scrubbing off unsightly mould or grime build-up in your bathroom as glass panels have no grout lines, reducing the chances of oil, dirt, mould and grime build-up.

Amity and Phil and Mark and Duncan also added a touch of luxury and elegance with a Stegbar frameless showerscreen.

Mirrors were used by all the contestants as they instantly make any room in a home appear more spacious. The shape and size of the mirrors were completely customised by each contestant, all they had to do was bring the design and Stegbar added the drama!
