My solar power system includes remote viewing. Have a look at how clever it is at trying to stop the power meter from spinning.

It utilises the batteries to store and release the excess power from my solar panels, which means my power meter stops dead in its tracks! When the sun is gone and the batteries are empty, it automatically draws from the grid again.
