Tuflex recycled rubber flooring from Dalsouple stomped on by All Blacks

Tuflex recycled rubber floor tiles were chosen for the gymnasium for Wesley College in Pukekohe, Auckland in 1994. Jonah Lomu, one of the most famous All Blacks player may have trained on the Tuflex rubber floor in the gym at Wesley. The All Blacks also stomp on Tuflex rubber flooring in No.1 changing room at Eden Park, Auckland and is still going strong after 10 years.

About 80m² of grey 914 tiles were laid at Wesley college gym in a brick-bonding pattern with a matt finish. Even though Tuflex rubber flooring comes with a 5-year guarantee the tiles are designed to last at least twice that time. It is so tough, it can take rugby sprigs, golf spikes, stiletto heels, heavy weights and yet is comfortable to lie on and walk on. Tuflex's non-porous surface provides an excellent barrier to soil, spills, stains and odors.

Tuflex rubber flooring is made from recycled truck tyres, tennis shoe soles, hot water bottles and beach balls. The tiles come in 686mm x 686mm x 9.5mm thick. They are fully vulcanized and will not delaminate compared to cheaper alternatives. This makes Tuflex sustainable, environmentally friendly flooring and a necessary rubber floor choice for any gymnasium.
