NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESStacker Door Screens Sydney from Artilux![]() Stacker doors are a classic and great feature when it comes to incorporating outdoor & indoor living. Whether it is for views, or to provide access to an open area, they offer great functionality with minimum compromise of space inward or outward the opening. The question is, you have invested in stacker doors and made them a great feature of your home, and you want to take full advantage of their functionality, right? In some cases, screens for stacker doors can be perceived as a challenge, but it is not really the case. Artilux offers a range of solutions to screen stacker doors not just based on size but more importantly on how you choose to use them in your home. Stacking inside / outside When your doors are stacking on the outside of the opening (meaning that the insect screen will be inside), you can choose either system. When your doors are stacking on the inside of the opening (meaning that the fly screen will be outside) there are a few things to consider: If the fly screen is completely exposed to the weather (direct sunlight and rain - no worries, both systems are designed to stand the weather). Retractable fly screens handle the weather in a better way because the mesh is concealed into the cassette. Pleated insect screens can also be used, but bear in mind that when they are retracted the mesh is a little bit exposed (when the screen is stacked back). If the screen is outside but protected from direct sunlight and rain (by an awning or roof) then any system would work. In any case, when the screen is located outside it will need more maintenance. You need to vacuum and lubricate the tracks more often to keep the screens working in perfect condition. |
