The Multiparker provides space-saving parking by stacking cars side by side and on top of each other in a storage and retrieval system. One or more transfer areas provides access to the storage area where the vehicle is transferred onto the S.R.U. The storage and retrieval unit is provided with an integrated quick-change pallet system and a turning device which turns the vehicle during parking; this has the vehicle facing the right way for exiting when returned. The storage and retrieval technique allows short access times and makes the Multiparker attractive also for public parking. The Multiparker dispenses with the need for ramps and aisles, offers security against theft and vandalism, saves the need for costly building engineering compared with conventional garage buildings and is environmentally friendly in terms of its compact construction, and in addition it reduces emissions.
