Wonderful kitchens, a lesson in geometry, Gloss Polyurethane Kitchen, seductively smooth surface that aches to be touched

Cool lines get a warm reception in this immaculate design

Faced with finishing a half-started project, designer Andrew Dee managed to turn this kitchen into a design masterpiece without moving a pipe. Rather than being constrained by the pre-existing space and plumbing, Dee worked intelligently within the bounds to perfect an almost startlingly minimal installation that still conveys a sense of welcome.

@BC: "The room and architecture were originally designed to incorporate a differently designed kitchen," explains Andrew, "so we had to work with the existing space and plumbing locations". Bordering on the space-age in appearance, this installation features such indulgences as lift-up aluminium doors, corner drawers, touch panels and robust benchtops, all combining to create an undeniable visual impact. Multiple shadow lines define and strengthen the space while recessed handles and perfectly fitted appliances present a seductively smooth surface that aches to be touched.

A truly capacious design, the storage capabilities of this kitchen appear endless, with stainless steel, full extension drawers throughout, elongated vertical and horizontal cabinets above and to the right of the stove top area and within the island bench. With so much attention to detail, this innovative composition represents the future for 21st century kitchen design.

"We've achieve a result everyone was more than happy with," says Andrew, "and it sets the overall feel of the room. Because it's a Wonderful kitchen a lot of attention was paid to the joinery detail".
