NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESThe Lanessan from The Good House - a contemporary fireplace that blends with all styles![]() Alongside the "Savigny", a typical French countryside fireplace, the "Lanessan" is another popular model at The Good House. A compact and square design, this smaller fireplace perfectly fits into studies or bedrooms, or any intimate room where the company of a cosy fire is sought after. Custom made in our workshop in the heart of Burgundy, a region renowned around the world for its wines as well as its varied high quality limestone, the "Lanessan" can be carved out of a variety of soft stones that will provide a rather rustic look, or in medium hard limestone with a finer grain for a honed, classier finish. The texture and the colour of the stone will also alter the final aspect. Please visit us in Richmond to see samples of the deep ocre "St Maximin" stone, or the creamy "Sainte Croix de Mareuil", also known as Crema Luna, with a texture rich in shells and a very smooth grain. Thus the "Lanessan" can complement a classical or a contemporary setting, depending on your choice of stone, colour, and finish. A common size is 1.25 x 125m. with pillars 160mm wide. An exclusive structural design makes installation of the components easy and faultless. More about stone fireplaces: As you would expect, the "Lanessan" is always custom made to suit your project. Accordingly, a hearth stone, a firewood stowage or a hood can be added. Feel free to provide us with your requirements and we will send a price estimate. At The Good House, we specialize in custom made works, so feel free to submit your own stonework design for a quote (fountains, entrance door surround).
