Award winning eco timber from Duce Timber Windows & Doors

Middap Ditchfield Architects took out the top prize at the R.A.I.A awards on the Sunshine Coast earlier this month (April 09) with a Peregian Beach House. This stunning holiday house overlooking the Peregian Beach on the Sunshine Coast is just one of Middap Ditchfield Architects' award-winning projects. This house built by Horizon Homes with the environment in mind has been designed to suit the extreme coastal conditions.

Timber window frames are in Eco New Guinea Rosewood manufactured in Queensland by Duce Timber Windows & Doors who have been established since 1934. Greenpeace refers to Eco Timber as "good wood" meaning it has been sourced from an environmentally and socially beneficial scheme. Windows were made with high performance glass to limit UV and heat gain.

Geoff Reid, Showroom Manager of Duce Timber Windows & Doors on the Sunshine Coast said "it's always a pleasure to be involved in these great projects that have environment and energy efficiency in mind."

By installing timber windows and doors the overall energy rating of a home can be greatly improved increasing it's re-sale value. The average homeowner can improve the energy efficiency of their home by choosing timber windows and doors. Geoff Reid went on to say, "with the Duce selection process, clients can select which timber and which glass is preferred that will help achieve a specific energy rating of a home. By going through a step-by-step process clients can even design their own doors or windows as we custom-make everything."

Duce are honoured to have been the preferred choice of builders and architects on a number of spectacular award winning homes.
