Entrance Mat System with Milliken Obex Modular Matting

Milliken Obex modular tiles offer an extremely cost effective solution for entrance protection from soil and moisture. Eighty percent of all soil entering a building is walked or tracked into the building. Obex Atrium is a highly specialised mat incorporating monofilaments for heavy duty scraping action and multifilament fibres for moisture absorption that comes in 2 metre widths and can be cut to length up to 25 metres. This fabric is colour co-ordinated with the same fabric in the Forma modular tiles which incorporate Atrium as a textile insert for soil and moisture control in mat wells or in surface mounted entrance mats.

As a combined system of mats and runners 90% of dirt entering a building can be trapped by Obex. The mats are modular and are simple to install using a straight edge, craft knife and rubber hammer. This alleviates the need to send paper templates and removes the four to five week lead time that conventional aluminium bar systems require. In addition Obex tiles are cost competitive with aluminium bar construction. Obex tiles come in easy to assemble sheets of 6 tiles and are available in 11mm and 16mm. The 11 mm tiles are the same height as a standard carpet tile or ceramic tile and make for easy installation. Their ease of cutting and ability to be readily shaped means that shapes other than the traditional rectangular mat well can be readily accommodated. The modular nature of the product also means that wear and tear incurred in use can be replaced simply keeping the entrance way smart and fashionable whilst providing the protection for expensive tiled or parquet floors.
