Don't Butcher the Renovation - Renovate your butcher shop in single weekend

Renovating the walls and ceiling of a butcher shop can be time consuming, expensive and may require you to close down your business for an extended period of time. Between jack-hammering off existing broken and chipped tiles, removing dented or corroded panels and patching damaged plaster boards - the entire exercise can be quite daunting for any business owner.

"We had tiles in the last shop and we were forever replacing them, forever repairing them and they were a pain in the neck to clean. It was annoying because we'd only get four or five years out of them and in the end we had to go over them with stainless steel but that wasn't very easy to clean," said Ian, co-owner of Ellis Butchers.

But what if you could renovate and revamp your store in just one weekend, quickly, cleanly and inexpensively? All you would need to do is shut up shop for a single weekend and with the help of a mate you could hang the boards and be ready to resume business without unpleasant chemical smells on Monday. It's as simple as hanging wallpaper or should we say Glasbord!

"We were able to measure all the walls out, cut all the panels to size, build a table out of pallets and start gluing all in one weekend. We had most of the shop done in less than 2 days," said Ian, co-owner of Ellis Butchers.

Glasbord is a fibreglass reinforced plastic (FRP) wall and ceiling liner panel system that is treated with Surfaseal and approved by AQIS for use in establishments registered under the Export Control Act.

Glasbord panels with Surfaseal are up to 10 times more cleanable than conventional fibreglass reinforced plastic panels. Additionally, they will not mildew, rot or corrode, and offer more than twice the abrasion resistance and up to six time better stain resistance. And unlike a painted wall, Glasbord does not harbour microorganisms.

In areas that require a hygienic, food grade finish, the Glasbord wall and ceiling panels can be thoroughly disinfected and hosed down on a shift-by-shift basis to come up looking like new long after other FRP panels have delaminated or gone yellow and need to been replaced.

The smooth, flat white finish of the Glasbord panels reflect light, ultimately brightening the work place.

Glasbord will not only continue to perform to the highest of standards, it has the ability to be installed over most pre-existing surfaces you may have in your shop.

Whether it's broken and cracked tiles, damaged plaster board, corroded metal surfaces or concrete, the need for dirty demolition work is removed. Installing Glasbord saves you precious time, minimising mess and making the process of installation quick and simple, allowing you to resume work bright and early Monday morning.

So how easy is it to install?

Measure and cut the Glasbord to size using a grinder or circular saw. Apply adhesive to back of Glasbord Apply Glasbord to wall. Ensure all edges are level

That is how easy it is! Job well done.

"You pretty much cut it, glue it and Bob's your uncle! You've got a new butcher shop in less than a weekend," says Rick Hutchings a Glasbord expert.
