Today, intelligent light management is becoming increasingly important. EUTRAC|Dali systems open up new possibilities for offices and sales showrooms, exhibition stands, restaurants, museums and galleries to name but a few. While previously it was necessary for construction managers first to stipulate how buildings were to be divided up into rooms before decisions about lighting could be made, EUTRAC|Dali systems mean they can now react more flexibly to changes in room plans. Lights can be added to systems later on and lighting not operated within the track can also be connected up. The system facilitates all types of light management and can also be integrated into building automation systems, enabling optimum Facility Management. In sales showrooms, EUTRAC|Dali systems can be used both for pure product display and for creating a genuine purchasing experience. They also enable lighting in display windows to be adapted automatically to the daylight. Both daylight detection and presence detection is achieved using sensors and these result in considerable energy savings. In restaurants and hotels, the systems enable light moods to be called and then to be recalled time and time again for events, banquets, presentations and so on. EUTRAC|Dali systems also open up new possibilities for museums and galleries, such as the use of light to emphasise artworks using the right light at the right time, so that lighting can be reduced when no visitors are present for instance. This not only saves on energy, but is also beneficial for conservational reasons. In addition, the integrated logging function acts as an ideal tool for conservationists. EUTRAC was one of the finalists at this year's international Lighting Design Awards 2006 in the category "Light sources and control gear". The jury, which premieres outstanding solutions and innovations in the area of lighting technology every year, highly commended Eutrac's new light management system.
