Ecoglo has been specified and installed at hundreds of venues around the world. Ecoglo, glow in the dark stair nosing and path finding products, provide emergency lighting and aisle lighting systems that give a feeling of security and safety to the many millions of people that pass through those facilities every year. Ecoglo arena, theatre and stadium path-finding products provide guidance safely for the duration of the event.

Can be fitted to the edge of carpeted steps in public stair ways, exit ways, performance stairs and anywhere that path finding in darkness is an issue. Every step, landing, corridor, ramp, change of direction and doorway is highlighted and easily identified.

  • Strict fire safety and performance guidelines These were set at an output from the photo-luminous material of 10 millicandelas per square meter measured 140 minutes after exposure to light. The charging light source is set at 120 lux (dull office light) and exposure lasts 30 minutes. (120 lux is equivalent to approximately 11 foot candles).
  • Environmental standards Eco-rating principles were developed taking into account the desirability of principles such as zero greenhouse effect, use of solar energy, recycling, use of biodegradable materials and durable materials.

Location
In response to the World Trade Centre tragedy, New York City has legislated the use of photo luminescent egress systems to supplement existing emergency lighting.

In Australian Sydney's Superdome was the first stadium in the world to use photo-luminous path-finding systems.

MCG General Manager - Facilities, Scott Butler first saw ecoglo® at a VMA Conference. Scott was interested in the anti-slip component of ecoglo®.

"Because the MCG is an open bowl, the lighting component of ecoglo® wasn't the main reason we initially decided to use it," admits Butler. "But it was certainly an added bonus. Slips and trips had been an issue for us in the past, so we were looking for an improved safety system; ecoglo® provided that for us."
