Grip Guard anti-slip floor safety treatment for commercial kitchens

Slip and fall accidents can be dangerous regardless of where there occur. However, in busy commercial kitchens, the risks are exacerbated by the nature of the environment. Sharp knives, boiling pots and a slippery floor are a recipe for disaster. Recent Worksafe advertisements highlight these risks and stress the responsibility (in legal terms 'duty of care') that employers have to their employees - both from a personal standpoint and a legal one.

Grip Guard anti-slip floor safety treatment has been used to assist property owners in meeting their OH&S obligations for many years. Grip Guard has been used to slip-proof slippery floors in restaurants, aquatic centres, office complexes, factories, show rooms, hospitals, aged care facilities and residences, helping to provide safe pedestrian environments for those who use these spaces.

Grip Guard non-slip floor safety treatment is unique because it increases the slip resistance of floors without changing their appearance. This is because the treatment is not a coating that can yellow and wear away over time leaving the floor dangerously slippery again. It is also not an etching process that chemically abrades the surface leaving it dull and hard to clean.

Grip Guard was recently asked to undertake anti-slip works in the commercial kitchen at a Sydney resort. The slip resistance of the floor tiles in the kitchen was found to be dangerously inadequate when tested using an ATSM slip meter. A test area was treated and re-tested. The co-efficient of friction was measured after the non-slip treatment and found to be 'very safe'. The resort made the decision to go ahead with the treatment in their kitchen and owners were thrilled with the results.

Grip Guard non-slip floor treatment is suitable for all stone-based surfaces including ceramic, porcelain, marble, granite, terrazzo, aggregate and concrete floors. Grip Guard operators are available in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide, Darwin, Perth, Brisbane and selected regional areas.
