Case Study
Sales Engineer Peter Doran (TAS)

Layne Bowler's high quality pumps for irrigation

Kelair was asked to select pumps for an irrigation project with a flow rate in excess of 500L/s and a total head approaching 100m. Lineshaft-style vertical turbine pumps were required as the pumps were to be mounted in a sump situated next to a river and the total flow was to be provided by two pumps operating in parallel with each other.

The client was looking for pumps that were of high quality and efficiency while also offering exceptional value for money. These criteria led Kelair to consider Layne Bowler for the job as it is a respected and experienced manufacturer of high quality pumps for applications across the globe.

Layne Bowler was able to offer an excellent selection for the specified duty and Kelair received an order for two pumps which were supplied complete with quality CMG electric motors. While a conventional cast iron / bronze /stainless steel construction arrangement was all that was required for this job, Layne Bowler is able to supply a variety of more exotic materials if required and can engineer a pump solution for a wide variety of applications.

Layne Bowler's use of its own foundry to cast components for its pumps enables the company to retain complete control over the quality of the finished product. The use of the latest manufacturing technologies and an ISO 9001 Quality Management System ensures that a high quality product is always provided.

If you are considering a vertical turbine pump for your water supply, irrigation or general transfer duty please contact Kelair on 1300 789 466 to arrange for a quotation.
