NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESContemporary Kitchen Design from Wonderful Kitchens![]() A kitchen designer often comes along after the initial planning stages of a new home or renovation and has to work within a pre-allocated space. In this home, kitchen designer Fred Tabet of Wonderful Kitchens worked with a space that included angled walls. To make the most of the area, the main part of the kitchen was located along two walls of the space, forming a right-angled corner. A window seat, with hidden storage area, was built along the third side to maximise the space created by the angles. A contemporary look was requested by the owners, so Wonderful Kitchens selected CaesarStone in Organic White for perimeter benchtops and wall cladding, Quantum Quartz in New Mink for the island and window seat, white polyurethene for cabinetry and added a mirror splashback behind the cooktop. Refrigerators and dishwasher are integrated and the pantry is behind a sliding door. Continuing the finishes used in the kitchen, Wonderful Kitchens integrated the home office into the open-plan space by wrapping the joinery around into the living area. The office, with a desk and storage, is set behind bifolding doors. ![]()
