NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESSlimwood Overlay Flooring from Connollys Timber![]() Slimwood Flooring Profile Precision-milled to 13mm thick, Slimwood, as the name suggests, is thinner than the traditional tongue and groove timber strip floors. Because Slimwood goes down directly over a structural surface such as concrete or plywood, it is well supported and you don't need the extra 6mm thickness. When compared to traditional 19mm tongue and groove strip flooring, Slimwood still offers the same depth of wear (the depth of the board that can be sanded and refinished) even the overall plank is 6mm thinner. Easy installation Slimwood solid timber flooring is designed to be glued down using Bostik Ultraset polyurethane adhesive. As any solid timber product will be effected by changes in the moisture content of the air, we recommend that Slimwood is acclimatised to its new environment for an appropriate time. In areas where there is a concern with moisture, Bostik Moisture Seal should be used in conjunction with Bostik Ultraset. Your new floor should then be professionally installed and only takes a short time to install, sand and finish. Many applications Slimwood can be used in the following flooring applications:
