Overhead Door Automation from Ideal Doors

Like most mechanical items these days, overhead doors can have various levels of automation. The current Building Code of Australia allows semi automatic opening - push the button briefly and the door can open to its top limit - but insists on the operator keeping control of the switch or button while the door is being closed so that if the switch is released the door stops.

Only when other safety systems such as photo-electric beams or pressure sensitive bottom rails are incorporated can this rule be disregarded. This is for the safety of the operator and anyone else in the area.
