Decorative Driveway Expansion Joints from Pennoscan

Decorative Cutting

Expansion joints are a necessity when pouring concrete driveways, but no one said they have to be ugly. When our client called us and explained he wanted the expansion joints to form a "diamond" pattern we were only too happy to make this happen.

Once on site our technician in conjunction with the landscape foreman strung out the pattern making sure all the proposed cuts are parallel and square. When the client was happy with the string lines we chalked out the lines and it was time to cut.

Due to the relatively compact area we had to work in we decided to use a Stihl TS800 Demo Saw mounted on a Stihl trolley with a guide wheel, this enabled us to get the saw in all the tight spots and still maintain a straight cut.

The finished product turned otherwise unsightly cuts in to something that was visually appealing.
