Timber Concrete Composite from Timber Imagineering

adelaide oval redevelopment

TCC or Timber Concrete Composite is exactly what the name suggests, this gives and alternative to steel decking/formwork for pouring concrete. Due to the timber component it is easy to use and adjust with basic carpentry tools.

Standard building practises can be adopted for fixing of linings etc to the underside of the floor. Depths of the floor structure can vary and can be determined at the design stage.

It is a unique system of metal shear connectors embedded into the joist with a screed of concrete and reinforcing mesh laid over the top.

The benefits of this system include reduced support structure loads (making for lighter footings etc), carpenters can frame up for the pour using basic tools, the addition of permanent form work also allows room for extra insulation and services.
