Methven - Satinjet "Kissed by Water" Save every drop with a designer luxury shower!

Recent Savewater statistics show Australia as the second highest user of domestic water in the world, with showers accounting for more than a quarter of all household water usage.

To help minimise water usage leading bathroomware manufacturer Methven has made an innovative break through in shower spray technology. The Satinjet shower has been designed both to save water and provide a luxurious showering experience.

"We wanted to design a top quality product that contributed to water sustainability and helped to save money on water bills, while still being stylish and functional. The Satinjet provides the perfect solution, combining the latest technology in showers with sophisticated design," says Matthew Crichton, Methven CEO. From 1 July 2006 the Water Efficiency Labelling and Standards (WELS) Scheme will introduce mandatory water efficiency labels on all showers in Australia. The Satinjet complies with the new scheme and has a three star WELS rating for its water saving ability. The Satinjet uses just 9 litres of water per minute, which can save up to 180,000 litres per year for an average household.

As well as being kind to the environment the newly developed Satinjet shower has claimed the Product Design Award for Bathroomware - Best New Product at the recent Australian DesignEx 2005 (Melbourne, April 2005.) The prestigious accolade was awarded as part of the largest and most influential forum for commercial and residential design professionals in the Asia Pacific region.

What's so different about the Satinjet experience?

According to Gary Nel, Head of Design and of Methven, the Satinjet technology success comes down to diffusing the surface tension of the water and precisely arranging the SatinJet jets nozzles, this results in a spray with a soft intensity and a wide coverage, a shower experience like no other.

"The unique spray is achieved using less energy and water than conventional showers and works efficiently at all water pressures. Water contacts the skin with up to 3000 drops of water per second, as opposed to a conventional 'needle' shower that produces a single continuous jet of water. This new generation shower head delivers elegant and simple technology, meaning higher quality performance and durability," he says. Methven believes Satinjet heralds a new era in bathroom technology second to none. The combination of water saving with true form and function has been designed to provide the perfect solution for the modern day bathroom.
