Anti-slip solution by Global Safe Technologies to solve Energex
OH&S issues

The proactive OH&S management of Energex in Queensland had identified a potential slip and fall issue at one of their premises. Being a safety orientated and responsible company Energex contacted Global Safe Technologies Australia and asked them to assess the situation.

A representative from the Global Floor Safety Network visited the site and supplied Energex with a site specific, safety inspection report.

This report outlined the slip issues and the best options to provide a solution to the slip fall dilemma.

Global Safe proposed its Floor Tuff Green, (environmentally friendly polyurethane anti slip coating) for the wooden surfaces on the deck of the premises. The timber ramp onsite was also treated with the Safe Grip product in the form of anti-slip stripes. This product is not only a long lasting solution, but also increased the slip resistance on the ramp surface. It was also used to add slip resistance to the aluminium stairs on site as well.

After completion of all work the Global Team then arranged for an independent slip testing company to carry out a slip test on the supplied surfaces for the client.

Management can now rest easy with the knowledge that the potential problem has been alleviated and that the treated surfaces now far exceed the relevant standards for pedestrian safety.

As both products used in the job have undergone independent accelerated wear testing, the client also has a very good understanding of the expected useful life of the solutions.

Global Safe's industry unique risk management program called The Floor Safety Maintenance Program© or FSMP© is also offered to the client ensuring ongoing monitoring and reporting of the surface condition.
