WearMax™ clear anti slip coating solves slip concern on marble floors

The developer of this latest state of the art residential and commercial twin tower project at the Gold Coast required slip resistive surface installation in two different marble tiled bathroom areas.

The marble tile supplier, contacted Global Safe Technologies for a possible solution. Their requirements were to have a sustainable slip resistive surface which does not change the aesthetics and easy to clean.

After discussions, the WearMax™ environmentally friendly waterborne technology was proposed. The product has been developed using breakthroughs in technology from the NASA space program. By utilizing specially developed ceramics it is possible to create a protective layer that shields the floor surface whilst creating a non slip surface for pedestrian traffic.

The product has undergone not only independent slip resistance testing, but also accelerated wear testing by Safe Environments an accredited testing company, the client was able to select the product based on facts. Upon job completion the surface was independently tested for slip resistance and has achieved a Class V classification with the Wet Pendulum tester. The surface with the WearMax™ coating can also been cleaned easily and as an additional benefit it reduces the requirements for chemicals. WearMax™ provides a unique solution that allows the client to choose varying gloss levels of the final coat.

Stage 1 of the anti slip work has now completed and the client is very satisfied with the result. Stage 2 of the work is expected to be completed in late July or early August, ready for the expected opening in late August.
