Wrought Iron Fabricated Gates from Wrought Artworks

Wrought Artworks restored, designed and added more decorative elements, adapted it to suit a motorized system and extended this imposing European antique gate. Frosted glass was fitted on the inside for privacy.

All contact points of components were, after removal, treated with rust preventative chemicals and paint, an assurity against moisture ingressing and causing rust to develop. The gate was then reassembled using pins, rivets, and screws. No welding was done on the gate. This detail is based on an antique pattern, where the principle is that the interlacing broad lines shall pass over and under one-another alternatively. This decorative add on was hand carved in wood then cast in iron and fixed on with blind rivets.

The rosettes in the corners were also hand carved and cast in iron.

The central Akanthos leaf is made in sheet metal with a technique known as repousage.
