NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESStone Cladding Support with StoneClips from StoneClip![]() The above project has just been completed and the owners have just moved in. The stone cladding was carried out by Brett Hofman and his men of Stonehedge Stone Masonry - info@stonehedgemasonry.com.au, who chose to support the pieces of stone (300mm deep x 800mm long x 50mm bed and rock faced 50-80mm) with 33mm set size stoneclips. Perfect for the project as they give you support when installed at 25mm in from back face and a cavity of just 5mm wide. Each piece of stone panelling weights in at 38-40 kgs, so the 2 Stoneclips / panel are not loaded anywhere near their capacity. The joint width adopted was 10mm and this was filled with a backing rod and then the grouting was completed by injecting it in with a grout gun which forced the grout material in 30mm. The underside of the panels over the openings are supported by the use of the 6 mm adjustable Top & Bottom clips which have a working range of 10mm-30mm cavity with this size panels (50mm bed). The Sandstone was sourced from Australian Sandstone Merchants from their Mt White deposit.
