Polished Concrete Commonly Asked Questions Answered by Pro Grind

POLISHED CONCRETE- COMMON QUESTIONS ANSWERED
What type of coating/guard do you use at Pro Grind?
Pro Grind's mechanically polished concrete (MPC) is not a coating/guard, but rather a specialized process achieved through a unique combination of machinery, tooling and floor treatment products. As it is not a coating, our floors do not flake, peel or discolour. Pro Grind's MPC increases the hardness and density of the concrete slab significantly, thereby increasing the abrasion resistance and stain resilience of the floor. The improved floor properties increase the longevity of the floor and make maintenance incredibly easy when compared with thin film coatings or vinyl. Customers such as Dan Murphys and IGA have benefitted greatly from the advantages of Pro Grind's MPC
Do I need special concrete?
No. Concrete polishing can be undertaken on new or existing floors. Given Pro Grind's exclusive advanced floor treatment methods the quality of the existing floor generally has little impact on the result of the floor.
What if I decide to reconfigure my store or space?
Pro Grind's polished concrete is the ultimate compliment to your store reconfiguration project. Areas previously not polished can be easily polished with seamless integration into the overall floor. Downtime can be eliminated &/or minimized with Pro Grind MPC, enabling stores to keep trading during their refurbishment or reconfiguration process. Customers such as JB HiFi, KMart and Beacon Lighting have benefited greatly from the ease of use in retail space configuration.
Can polished concrete only be used in retail or residential applications?
Polished concrete can be used in a wide variety of applications. Commercial, Retail, Residential and Industrial can all benefit from the durability, longevity, lifecycle cost, aesthetic and ease of installation advantages.
