Shelf Angle and Slimline Supportclips from Stoneclip

The main contractor is Hutchinsons Builders and the Stone installer is Kievel Stone (robkievel@aol.com).

The area of this installation is the entry lift surrounds. The Stoneclip fixing products are the SB-5 Shelf Angle and the Slimline Supportclips.

The Supportclips were used because of the ability to be prior installed before going onto site - this is one of the big problems now with working on building site - not being able to do cuts for the kerfs into product onsite, so preparing panel prior to coming on site is becoming the norm.

The stone itself is a polished Grey and Beige Turkish Limestone and the panels are 1200mm long x 600mm x 20mm thick =40kgs / panel and they are held in place with 3 Slimline Supportclips fitted to the top of each panel, which means that each clip is only supporting 13kgs.

The area clad with the marble is around 50m2. Each of the clips is prior epoxied into the exact cut indented by the purpose built cutter.

The Supportclip itself allows the installer to be able to Picture Rail the panels and support them from the top ,instead of from the underside which is the way with the Stoneclip system. It is suitable for panels up to 20mm thick and down to 9mm thin.

Also shown is how the SB-5 bracket was used to secure the 50mm thick edging around the lift door opening.
