Carrera Marble Panelling Fixed with Adjustable StoneClips

The redevelopment of 50 Martin Place is one of those projects that the invited installation gangs get to quote on and as being such a prestige building (Macquarie Bank Building) and that it is leased to another bank, the standards and certification are enforced by the builder rigidly.

Team members Projects under the control of Mr Marcelo Cardino won the project to install the Carrera Marble paneling and refurbishing of the old paneling and finishing's.

The new panels are Carrera Marble were 900 mm x 450 mm x 30 mm thick.

The main part of the walls were at a cavity of 50 mm and this is handled very well by the 10 mm adjustable Stoneclips 2/ panel and the fixing to the substrate was with Hilti screw bolts 8 mm x 80 mm long, allowing a 50 % margin above the engineer certified load ratings, as shown below:

Parts of the walls blew out to over 160 mm wide cavity and then the 10 mm Stone Sub system had to be used fitted onto 62 mm deep channel, which was held in place onto 41 mm horizontal channel. This allowed them then to work with a 50 mm cavity again and within the clips certification.
