Australian Institute of Surface finishing talks powder coating, anodising and electroplating

The Australasian Institute of Surface Finishing is an industry association, catering for all types of surface finishers. This includes:

  • Electroplating Powder Coating Anodising Chemical coating.
  • Organic coating.

The AISF is a not-for-profit organisation, and was formed in 1969. Today the AISF has over 400 members throughout Australia and New Zealand, representing over 200 companies.Branches operate in Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney. Each branch has it's own volunteer committee, who offer a variety of activities for members: including technical meetings, plant visits, trade shows, the very important annual golf day, and also social functions and dinners. These activities enable members to network with other people from the industry in a friendly and congenial environment.Membership entitles members to discounts on a variety of items, including free technical meetings, discounts on books and training courses, access to technical journals from overseas and also receipt of the Institute magazine "Surface Finishing." Two divisions operate within the AISF:

  • Qualicoat is a quality system for the application of powdercoating on aluminium extrusion.
  • The Anodisers Association was formed to promote the benefits of anodising and assist in the correct specification for anodising.
