Plumber says new tech is the ultimate from Dux Hot Water

Hot water is rapidly becoming a specialist area of plumbing as new and greener technology captures a growing share of the market.

That's the opinion of Ultimate Hot Water proprietor Neil Edney who has positioned his new business to capitalise on what he sees as future opportunities.

Ultimate evolved form Neil's previous employer, The Tap Man, and he aims to make the new business one of the largest and best hot water companies in Australia.

"When I went out on my own I took the decision to specialise in hot water rather than take general plumbing jobs," says Neil Edney.

"The hot water market is definitely going towards the green side of things with solar-powered technology, and heat pumps are also very strong."

Neil Edney says customers whose hot water system has failed often tell him that "they'll die" unless they can get their hot water promptly operating again.

"Accordingly, we've focused on providing the best customer service with fast response time - as close to the same day as possible," he says.

Ultimate Hot Water is currently riding a wave of interest in solar hot water systems, created by greater environmental awareness amongst customers and new government legislations.

"Solar sales will be flying over the next few months and we'll probably be putting on extra staff to cope with the demand," says Neil Edney.

Ultimate already has 15 staff and 11 vans on the road - five each in Sydney and Melbourne, plus one in Hobart.

The vans were recently given a distinctive Dux Hot Water paint scheme - including an attractive woman in a bubble bath - as a reflection of Ultimate Hot Water's commitment to the brand.

"We overwhelmingly sell Dux Hot Water products rather than any other brand and I think the vans are a great brand-building exercise for Dux and Ultimate Hot Water," says Neil.

"We drove five of the vans to Sydney in convoy and the reaction they caused in towns along the way was amazing.

"Dux is a great company to work for and they've been very loyal.

"I've worked with several other hot water brands over the years and none of them even come close.
