Our Vision and Values

About Space is a fusion of expertise and creativity of two visionaries who combined their 25-year long industry experience into a new venture - a company specialising in elegant yet flexible space management systems and storage solutions. Through our portfolio of modular furniture systems, we devise space-efficient and adaptable interior design solutions. We are focused on aesthetic and modern design that does not compromise the practicality and the premium quality of the final outcome. At About Space, we constantly translate our vision into new ways of creating space saving alternatives and managing them.

Our Heritage

About Space was established in 2003 as a subsidiary of Display Design (www.displaydesign.com.au). Our parent company has a decade long expertise in retail fit-out solutions. The owner of Display Design, Mark Vassermann, created About Space in order to extend his successful business model to other than retail market segments. He assigned Uri Fogel, an expert in exhibition display management, to be a General Manager of About Space. The new venture acquired the first brand in its portfolio, XimulA Flexible System, in the end of 2004. The range very quickly gained interest of major players in the property development market. XimulA was used in the interior fit-out of student accommodation at Swinburne University Campus in Hawthorn. The project, which was jointly managed by a leading architectural firm Cox Architects and a building contractor Probuild Constructions, was successfully completed in the end of 2005. About Space has completed other minor projects in the meantime, which included residential fit-outs such as wardrobes, workstations, and wall units; as well as retail displays, and office shelving.

Our Portfolio

Our product range evolves around shared values that embrace a modular character; visually attractive, but sturdy nature; and adaptability of use and design. The major brand in our portfolio, XimulA, is a system of modular furniture that utilises an aluminium post as a major element of design. Other modules include shelves, drawers, cabinets, hanger bars, wardrobe doors, desks, and partitions. XimulA has a comprehensive component base as all modules are available in a variety of sizes, materials, and colours. In addition, the system is designed to flexibly adapt to any spatial requirements and interior design tastes. The modular character of the range allows designing configurations that maximize the use of space, while the availability of an inclusive palette of colours in glass and melamine finishes enables creating interiors that can please most sophisticated tastes.
