Shower construction by Marmox

Marmox Australia is pleased to introduce the new Marmox Shower underlay, which is set to revolutionize shower construction, the underlay is designed so clients can specify their own tile finish. The underlay is made of tough, waterproof and light weight extruded polystyrene core surfaced with impact resistant fiber reinforced polymer cement.

The shower underlay is ideal for bathrooms and for showers in confined locations, the underlay can be easily cut to fit the shower area or to produce irregular or even circular shower base. Unlike other trays the Marmox shower underlay provide flexibility to accommodate different drain locations, the shower underlay is sufficiently robust to allow mosaic tiles or waterproof sheeting to be laid without the risk of compression because of point loading.

Unlike sand and cement screed the underlay is made of extruded polystyrene and pre-sloped surface at (2% min), means that there is no moisture retention under the shower tiles for the life time of the bathroom, minimizing possibility of leaking at a later stage and hygienic as it minimize possibility of mold growing in grout.

The Marmox shower underlay will perform acoustically better than screed, Marmox shower underlay is rebated to house leak control flange.

The Marmox underlay comes in a range of sizes from 900x900, 1000x1000, 1200x1200 and 1500x1500 centre drain 1000x1000, 1200x1200, 1000x1500 and 1000x2000 with offset drain.
