Sustainable anti-slip treatments by Global Safe Technologies at the NSW TAFE

One of the TAFE apprentice training centre's metal fabrication workshop was in dire need of resurfacing due to aged and smooth surfaces. Maintenance management wanted to find a long term sustainable anti slip solution which also would enhance the appearance of the metal fabrication training centre workshop. They have called on Global Safe NSW to assess the situation and provide them with a cost effective, sustainable and environmentally friendly solution.

After attending the site and discussed the TAFE site specific requirements, the company produced a comprehensive complimentary Floor Safety Inspection report to building management together with a quote for the proposed solution. The product proposed and chosen was the Floor Tuff Green polyurethane anti slip coating due to its proven hard wearing and long lasting slip resistance which will ensure that the solution will provide an anti slip surface solution for years to come. The solution environmental friendliness and fast curing time also were also very important factors in the proposed non slip resurfacing solution. Management wanted that the work would be carried out at a time when it had no impact of the training centre's operation. The Queen's birthday weekend was the first time slot suitable to complete the job. Global Safe NSW and the team have completed the anti slip resurfacing work to management's total satisfaction within the agreed time parameters.

The maintenance managers has commented that he was very satisfied with the company's highly professional staff and quality of the workmanship and also was very pleased the industry unique ongoing risk management program which is offered at no additional cost. This program, which is called Floor Safety Maintanence Program© (FSMP©) is in extention to the normal warranty and incorporates regular inspections and reporting of the surface and offered to commercial clients by the all members of the Global Floor Safety Network.

The FSMP© not only will assist management to have full and documented control of their floor surface slip resistive quality, but also allows them to be compliant with the latest Occupational Health and Safety Code of Practice 2008 which has come into force on the 12th of June 2008.
