Floor Tuff Green anti-slip coating by Global Safe Technologies

While doing the regular public area safety review the public safety conscientious Council has noted complaints regarding to a tactile ground surface indicator installation at a pre-school. The worn ceramic tactile tiles were slippery and posed potential slip and fall risk for pedestrians when it was wet.

The Council has contacted their local floor safety specialist, Global Safe Technologies Victoria and asked for a proposal for a sustainable and cost effective solution for the issue.

After the initial site safety assessment, the Floor Tuff Green environmentally friendly polyurethane anti slip coating was proposed to the Council in a terracotta colour. The reason for this was not only the product excellent and proven long lasting wear and slip resistance, but also to ensure the full luminance contrast compliance with the relevant Aus 1428.4 standard.

The council agreed with the proposed solution and gave the go ahead for the work to be completed.

The job was scheduled to be done during the school holidays to ensure that the normal school operations were not effected.

It was completed on agreed time and to the to the Council's and Pre School staff's total satisfaction. Council now can rest easy with the knowledge not only that the potential problem has been alleviated and that the treated surfaces now provide a sustainable safe environment for all pedestrians as well as will assist the visually impaired. As an additional bonus, the aesthetical appearance of the newly surfaced area also improved quite dramatically.
