• The vision screener operator will ask the patient a series of questions while the patient looks through the vision screening machine to complete each test slide.
• Patients' answers are recorded on a score sheet.
• Results from the score sheet are matched up against requirements for the worker's particular job function.
• If a worker fails the vision screening test based on their job function, it is a prompter to have that worker see an optometrist in order to have their vision fully assessed.
• The optometrist will recommend the necessary measures to undertake in order to correct the worker's vision and ensure they will be safe in performing their daily tasks on the job.
