Albin pump keeps it simple

Albin hose pumps are a relatively new range of pumps available from Kelair.

The sizes range from 5mm to 125mm in hose pumps and 9mm to 45mm in peristaltic pumps.

The ALH series hose pump is a very simple pump with a wide range (up to 150m3/h and 15bar) that can handle most liquids in most applications.

Kelair's customer was having difficulty with an existing rubber-lined centrifugal slurry pump The customer had spent in excess of $4000 on having the old pump repaired and was still having problems with it leaking. They asked us if we could come up with an alternative that was reliable and required little maintenance.

Kelair's sales engineer visited the site to investigate the old pump and to find a possible replacement for it, and mentioned the benefits of the Albin hose pump. The old pump was used to transfer Milk of Lime which is a slurry material called Calcium Hydroxide, being pumped from a vat up to their processing plant.

Albin hose pumps are a low maintenance option when pumping this type of liquid. They can handle a suction lift, run dry without damage and do not use mechanical seals or stuffing box assemblies.

Albin pumps are robust and constructed from cast iron, with the pumped fluid in contact only with the interior of the hose, and hoses are available in different materials to handle a wide range of liquids.

Kelair's customer was offered an ALH15 pump with an IP66 rated geared motor and was pleasantly surprised when the pump cost was under the cost of repairing their old pump.

They were also impressed with the low maintenance requirements. The order was placed and delivery was completed within five weeks.
