NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESRubber Used for Walling in Iconic Buildings from DalsoupleOver the last 5 years Dalsouple rubber flooring has been used creatively by interiors designers and architects in Australia for creative colourful walling features. The thin natural rubber can be coved over a tight radius, bent over banisters, around corners, and over bull nose bench tops. Dalsouple makes their rubber tiles in 80 standards colours and over 30 textures so the combinations are endless. Some interesting textures are diamonds, bubbles, fish scales, squares, stripes and circles. One of the first innovative architects to use Dalsouple as walling was Peter Maddison of Grand Designs Australia Fame. He used 3 colours as vertical stripes up the walls of the international Terminal 2 News bar at Melbourne Airrport. It's been a great product that copes with knocks from luggage, shoes, so that 5 years later it's still as good as new. The walls at RMIT, Swanston Academic Building (SAB) in a study area have been painted in patchwork pattern. The Dalsouple rubber tiles were chosen for the bottom couple of metres so that they'll take knocks from students over the years without damage to the walls.
