NEWS ARTICLE ARCHIVESHot Metal® represented in parliament house
There was much excitement in August at Parliament House Canberra, with the opening of the new Channel 7 Press Gallery. Smiles of approval and admiration were shown by the Prime Minister John Howard, and Opposition Leader Kim Beazley who opened the new Channel 7 Press Gallery, fitted out with an innovative Australian metal laminate - Hot Metal®. In this project Hot Metal® Pewter was specified in the Random pattern, to modernise the feature walls and provide an appropriate eye catching backdrop for the Press Gallery. Hot Metal® was chosen for this project because the product provides appealing visual effects, especially when accompanied by lighting designed for television. In addition, Hot Metal® is easy to work with and install, as claimed by the design team of Monaro Interiors, ACT. Hot Metal® was chosen for this fit out because it provides a sharp, clean look, reflective of today's interior trends. With this and the added interest of visual effects, Hot Metal® is appropriate to the architectural design of Parliament House and the requirements of the Channel 7 Press Gallery. Another advantage is that Hot Metal® is an Australian designed and manufactured metal laminate and is a member of the Australian Technology Showcase which is an initiative of the NSW Government promoting Australian Technologies to the World. Hot Metal® laminate is very distinct and unequalled in its look. It was developed to offer the architectural, interior design industry, set and event designers, signage and visual merchandise an inspiring, versatile and functional metal laminate appropriate for countless applications.
