It is an Internet Protocol alarm receiver designed for the Challenger panel alarm network. Alarm events are collected from Challenger panels converted into Contact ID and transmitted via a LAN or WAN to the Securestream receiver. The system uses an interface installed on the Challenger panel and a receiving PC referred to as the Securestream receiver. The Securestream receiver has an output in Contact Id format designed to be delivered to the Control Room alarm monitoring system.

The Securestream system maintains constant panel condition by use of a heartbeat. A heartbeat is sent to the panel to confirm connectivity between Securestream and its enrolled panels. A heartbeat failure from a panel indicates to Securestream that the Challenger is offline.
